Warnings
- The EDS analysis method is semi-quantitative. It is not possible to guarantee the identification of minerals using this method alone. If the mineral occurs in euhedral crystals, the shapes visible in the SEM images may, in some cases, aid identification.
- The method is not suitable for identifying species composed of light elements that will not be detected (Be, B, Li). Complex silicates will also be difficult to identify formally.
- Maximum sample size: L 40mm / W 40mm / H 30mm.
- To facilitate analysis, trimming or sampling of the species may be necessary. Please indicate if the sample must be preserved as it is.
- It is NOT recommended to send samples by post if you do not have a duplicate. Hand delivery is preferable.
